Operation Big Boy Bed

to be more precise, operation big boy mattress on the floor is underway at the Fish Household!! Xavier has officially been 'sleeping' in his big boy bed since Saturday. Last night he slept until 3 am at which point he had worked himself up and over his pillow and over the top of the mattress and was dangling off the top (good thing it was only about 4 inches to the floor) at which point he frantically called "mommy."
I have great faith that tonight he will sleep all night or at least sleep all night in his bed, I am sure he will wake up multiple times, but as long as he doesn't want to get in bed with us, that is moving in the right direction. Updates to follow!!!

Update-so we have had a set back, Xavier has wanted to be touching me for the last two nights. And when I say touching me, that is exactly what I mean-just touching me with one hand, sometimes one finger, but the second I move all heck breaks loose...two steps back for every one forward right?

I just wonder what I did so wrong with the sleeping thing?

An Orange kinda day

It seemed that Orange was the theme of yesterday in our house! It was a nasty rainy day-which made for a little cabin fever and well consuming lots of oranges and pretty much getting as much orange as you possibly can on. Xavier was 100% all orange, even the toys he played with where orange (not really sure where the orange theme came from, but Xavier led the way by picking out his pants and I just followed suit and put him in more orange.)

When we first got up, we had to eat some orange, then he had some fun with papa (my dad) with SBC pompoms, then we went swimming which was a blast, but there were tons of people in the pool because it was so nasty outside-Xavier loved "jumping off the side" which is more like he runs up the the side and then tries to climb in backwards, but whatever works. His favorite part was probably sitting in the hot tub-he likes to swim from one side to the other and watch all the big kids in the pool, then we stopped to get a hair cut at granddaddy's and then had fun with his ORANGE punching balloon-we are talking serious giggles (he was giving it raspberries).

I guess I should have worn orange too, but alas I wore pink...

Changes in the Fish Family!

So I have started a new job! I am officially back into the college world and working at Mary Baldwin College as a financial aid counselor! Very excited and after 3 days starting to feel like I know what is going on! I am working with adult and graduate students, so a little different than when I was at SBC, but still working with students and to be honest I feel so much more at home here than I did at a bank.
I am looking forward to taking step aerobics starting tomorrow here at MBC...I need to fit back into some of my pants, haha!
Ok, that was short and sweet, but wanted to update what is happening in the fish world!

At the Water Park

So I have been trying to upload pictures, but it is not working, so pictures will have to come later!!!
We are on vacation at the Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg and let me tell you it is fabulous and we are having a great time! Xavier is 100% in love with the water slides and can not wait to get down and get back to the top to do it all over again! We have not been able to get pictures of it, but he gets so excited and laughs at the end of each run when Jeremiah catches him, he then has to be dipped in the water and runs in the water over to the side and back up the steps to do it again. We were not sure if he would like the water slides in the kiddie pool, so we tried it this morning and he loved it. Then he had to move up to the bigger yellow kiddie slide, it goes faster and oh my gosh I had no clue he would take to it like he has. He as even let water get on his face and almost be dunked all the way under!!!
We will be back for sure, maybe we will have to make it a family valentines day celebration from here on out!!!
In other news, Jeremiah is officially a paramedic, he passed the national test last monday after finishing up his paramedic class at the end of January that he has been taking since August. Thank goodness and congratulations Jeremiah!!!
I am going to be starting my new Job with Mary Baldwin this coming Monday as a financial aid counselor. I am so excited and really looking forward to getting back into the college world and working with students again! Go Squirrels!

Life at Indian Branch is going well! We are all excited for the Holidays and Xavier OOOOO's and AAAAAA's whenever we turn on the Christmas Lights (our tree offically has about 300 lights on it and it is only 4 1/2 feet tall, serious life wattage!!!). We celebrated Hanukkah and had fun lighting candles. When we had Latke's Xavier was a big fan of the sour cream and apple sauce, but not so much of the latke's themselves!!!
As for Christmas, Xavier found his parents in the basement (they are behind the deep freezer, so that is serious snooping on his part!) Luckily I was able to get his attention with opening the wood stove...however I have since done some more hiding of gifts!!!
Xavier has learned how to climb out of his crib, so that has been taken down, he also goes down the stairs like all little kids, bump bump bump on his butt, so cut!!

Xavier has enjoyed the fall weather, especially the leaves. He has also been doing a good bit of planting with my parents.
Hope everyone is having a lovely holiday season!!!!

Halloween and Whatnot...

Halloween was a hit this year!!! Xavier was the cutest cowboy I have ever seen!!! We did not do much actual tick-or-treating, but he did have great time knocking on doors and the best of all, he managed to pour an entire cup of juicy-juice on himself and had to be taken home in a blanket!!!

really on the move these days

Xavier is definitely a walker! He prefers to walk with shoes on, I think in his mind it makes him totally cool or something, so shoes are worn whenever he feels the need to do a big walkfest!!! He still likes to get down and crawl some, but walking is very fun these days! I should have taken a picture of his newest shoes, they have skulls and crossbones on them, very cute if I say so myself, Xavier just thinks they are the baddest of bad shoes and will go looking for them and bring them back to you just to have you put them on him. However, no picture of them yet. I am saving them for our trip to Europe at the end of the month, so they can not be worn outside yet...Sometimes he needs to have them put on just to go to sleep, crazy little guy!

Tractors are a big favorite in the Fish family and he has even made a trip to the tractor store to get a new seat for the Fish/MatysekSnyder tractor.
Currently, as I type, Xavier is having a mini fuss fest about not being able to grind more coffee beans! He is a professional coffee bean grinder!

Cheers!
