There is nothing like getting in the holiday mind set quite like creating a Gingerbread House. Xavier got right into it this year. He was a wonderful helper by eating a good 1/3 of the icing while I put the house together. Needless to say, he woke up with a belly ache in the middle of the night, but he had SO much fun eating sugar paste by the spoonful!!
After Xavier got out of the bath and before bed he helped me put finishing touches on the roof. We have a number of fabulous pictures of this, however he was naked and I am just going to hold those in my ever growing embarrassing pictures to bring out when he starts dating...awhhhaaaa!
Xavier is 100% in total adoration of the "ginger house" It is like a calm comes over our house when I bring it down to the table for him to look at and pull gum drops off. He is very generous, he likes to pull gum drops off for Jeremiah and I, but only after having a few himself. Xavier has definitely been on a sugar high since the holiday spirit has hit our house. We had a cookie exchange at work and I brought home 6 dozen cookies (yes, 6 dozen), plus all the yummy holiday treats that seem to be all over our house, geema and papa's house, every store etc, teeth brushing at night has taken on a new meaning and has definitely increased in time and thankfully Xavier likes to floss his teeth, so we are diligently working at keeping his teeth clean after the mass amounts of sugar intake. BACK to the "ginger house" it seems to have the effect of the Elf on the Shelf, I can say, "Xavier I can't bring out the Gingerbread house this evening if you keep this up." And boom, it is like his little guardian angel smacked the little wild angel on the other shoulder and said, listen up you fool, we want to see that "ginger house." And piece and calm reigns again in the Fish house. It can take Xavier a good 10 minutes to decide which gum drop to pull off and eat first. He is a fan of the purple grape ones and seems to always give Jeremiah and I the red cherry ones. At least it is helping with his colors! I'm pretty sure he will have to go through sugar withdrawal after the holidays and it will be amazingly fabulous in our house for a few days!!!haha
Below are a few cute pictures of all the other happenings in our house! Last year, Jeremiah got a helicopter for Christmas; it was a big hit with Xavier and Jeremiah last year, but I think Xavier was a little scared of it. This year when they pulled it back out again Xavier is ALL OVER IT!! He is doing a pretty good job of flying it (as seen below with the controls), but the best part I think is that Jeremiah chases Xavier around the house with it. What fun! Too bad it only keeps a charge for about 30 minutes before needing to recharge, but it is a great energy burner for sure!!! Xavier with his shop goggles on! Tell me that is not cute!
And yes, the newest toy/playtime fun is actually the toy tub! Xavier is in the dumping out everything phase, so every morning he comes downstairs looks over at his toy tub and instantly goes into destruction mode and MUST dump EVERYTHING out and then jump into the pile and lay there for a little while. To a certain extent I have just given up on a clean living room (but this toys all over the place thing drives me bonkers! I do not mess with his room or really the basement-I can handle toys all over the place there, but in the living room it just drives me bonkers-oh well, I guess this just comes with the territory of motherhood, learning to deal!) So, one day while the boys were home, this became the newest and best thing! He gets in this toy tub, Jeremiah picks it up and then tips it up and back. I don't watch, but really cute pictures!
